Condrey is a former civilian electrical engineer for the Army and a Foreign Service Officer for the State Department. She lost her husband, Navy Special Warfare Veteran Ron Condrey, to suicide in September 2018 after a three-year battle with depression, anger, and impulsiveness. Soon after Ron’s death, Nicole learned of the VA-BU-CLF Brain Bank from Lt. Jason Redman, and donated Ron’s brain for research. She has since become a public advocate for Project Enlist, including being featured on the cover of The American Legion Magazine.
