Rose Gracie is a Brazilian and American sports industry entrepreneur and member of the legendary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gracie family. Gracie is the granddaughter of Grandmaster Helio Gracie and the daughter of UFC creator Rorion Gracie. She is the creator of the Gracie Tournament series, including Gracie Worlds, Gracie Nationals, and Gracie Regionals.

In 2012, she created a “submission only” ruleset that eliminated points systems and challenged the way mainstream Jiu-Jitsu tournaments were run. Several events with similar rules were born after that innovation such as Metamoris and the Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI). Gracie works alongside prominent members of the fighting community such as Cris Cyborg, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, and Eddie Bravo. She has worked at her family’s Jiu-Jitsu schools in Los Angeles and Hawaii throughout her career, and she has consulted various Jiu-Jitsu schools and businesses. Gracie is also an outspoken advocate on fighters’ rights and has helped advance several causes to better Jiu-Jitsu and MMA worldwide.

In October 2018, Gracie advised the Concussion Legacy Foundation for its Global Brain Bank partnership launch with the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil. She continues to serve as a liaison to support development, recruitment and media efforts for the CLF Global Brain Bank and USP in Brazil. In January 2019, Gracie and the Concussion Legacy Foundation launched the Gracie Concussion Challenge to accelerate research and awareness for brain injury and CTE in the combat sport community. Gracie leads recruitment and promotion for the Gracie Concussion Challenge.
