Emily joined the Concussion Legacy Foundation in August 2022 after moving from Austin to Tacoma when her husband got stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McCord. Growing up in a football-centric household and married to a multi-sport high school and college athlete, she has followed CLF’s work since the 2017 NYT article was published.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from Coe College and her Masters of Information and Library Science from Pratt Institute. After working as a reference and research librarian for several years, she found herself working as the database manager at several private schools for the past 4 years.
Emily has played several full-contact sports since her college days, picking up skates and a set of pads to play flat-track roller derby in 2016 and not looking back. When she’s not on the track, she enjoys powerlifting, reading, and taking care of her 3 dogs and 3 cats.
